The Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Association of the Philippines (PHAP) represents the research-based pharmaceutical sector in the country. Its member companies are the trusted providers of quality and life-saving medicines in the Philippines today. PHAP is a member of the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Industry Associations (IFPMA) and the Global Self-Care Federation (GSCF), both categorized as non-State actors with official relations with the World Health Organization (WHO). PHAP is also a signatory of the Consensus Framework for Ethical Collaboration and a member of the Coalition for Safe Medicines to fight counterfeit medicines. It is likewise a member of the National Privacy Commission Council. It is part of the ASEAN Confederation of Pharmaceutical Industry Associations (ACPIA) which represents the trade associations of research pharmaceutical companies present in the Southeast Asian region. ACPIA facilitates discussions, understanding and collaboration to achieve shared goals and objectives that advance overall health and trade policies in the region.

The signing of the IRR will pave the way for the implementation of measures that will positively impact the health of the people, especially the poor. We commend President Rodrigo Duterte, Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Francisco Duque III, and our legislators namely Rep. Angelina Tan and former Senator Joseph Victor “JV” Ejercito, for championing the UHC Act for the Filipino patients. PHAP, composed of providers of life-saving and innovative medicines, will soon unveil major initiatives to demonstrate our concrete support to the objectives of Universal Healthcare to provide the highest quality of care for all Filipinos.
Healthy Innovation Southeast Asia Southeast Asia is home to 9 percent of the world's population and is one of the fastest growing and most dynamic economic regions in the world. However, patients in our region need greater health care choices, faster access to new treatments, more innovation and more efficient and effective health systems. To realize Southeast Asia's full potential, public and the private sectors must work together to meet these increasing demands.
KNOW MOREAs a pre-requisite to membership, members abide by the PHAP Code of Practice aligned with international and national laws and standards. It also established the Integrity and Proficiency Program for the Pharmaceutical Sector (IPPS) which is a training and development program in line with PHAP’s continuing commitment to support the Government and private sector’s integrity and good governance drive. PHAP is also a signatory of the Consensus Framework for Ethical Collaboration, and a member of the National Privacy Commission Council.
The PHAPCares Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit, non-stock organization established by members of the Pharmaceutical and Healthcare Association of the Philippines (PHAP), a group representing the trusted providers of quality and life-saving medicines in the country today. Incorporated in 2003, the PHAPCares Foundation is mandated to serve as the social responsibility arm of PHAP to help improve the health and lives of Filipinos disadvantaged by sickness, poverty and disasters.
